I often start introducing simple chord shapes very early to my guitar classes in order to give them access to the harmonic and rhythmic aspects of the guitar as soon as possible. Melodies are incredibly important to teach from the beginning, but what I’ve found is that the first hope for the guitar’s role with many is to accompany a singer. This is the most basic version of movable chords that I share with students. Feel free to post questions and comments below.
